On Wednesday 22nd May, 2024, the Dormaa Central Municipal Assembly, led by its Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Drissa Ouattara handed over Sitse to three Contractors for the execution of Urban Development Grants Four and Five (UGD-4&5) Sub-projects under the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme (GSCSP).
The Site Handing Over Ceremony was attended by: Representatives of the Employer/Client (the Municipal Assembly); Representatives of the Consultant (Optimum Shelter Limited); and Representatives of the Contractors (M/S Sika Sem Company Ltd, M/S KOK Multi Company Ltd, and M/S Prefos Ltd.)
A total of Four (4) Sup-projects are to be executed by the three (3) Contractors, namely:
- Construction of 9No. 14-Unit Open Market Stalls, 4No. 14-Unit Lockable Mini Stores and Paving of 2000m² Market Spaces at Dormaa Ahenkro Tuesday Market.
- Construction of 8No. Pavilions, 1No. Meat Shop, and Market Lighting at Dormaa Ahenkro Tuesday Market.
- Provision and Installation of Market and Street Lighting (67No.) in Dormaa Ahenkro Township
- Upgrading of 1.9Km Roads with Side Drains.
The Sites were handed over to the respective Contractors as follows:
Firstly, Sites for the Construction of 9No. 14-Unit Open Market Stalls, 4No. 14-Unit Lockable Mini Stores and Paving of 2000m² Market Spaces, and the Upgrading of 1.9Km Roads with Side Drains were handed over to M/S Sika Sem Company Ltd.
Secondly, Site for the Construction of 8No. Pavilions, 1No. Meat Shop, and Market Lighting was handed over to MS/ KOK Multi Company Ltd.
Lastly, Site for the Provision and Installation of Market and Street Lighting (67No.) was handed over to M/S Prefos Ltd.
After handing over the Sites, the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive implored the Contractors to deliver quality work timeously. He assured them of the full support of the Assembly in any form necessary to enable them work smoothly.
On their part, the Contractors gave assurance that they will do all they can to execute their respective Contracts to the satisfaction of the Client and the Consultant within the project duration.
