The Dormaa Central Municipal Assembly organized a stakeholders’ engagement meeting on Thursday 1st February, 2024 at its Old Assembly Hall to discuss measures for the smooth implementation of its Urban Development Grant(UGD) four and five subprojects under the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Program (GSCSP). The projects involve the Reconstruction of the Dormaa Ahenkro Tuesday Market (Phase II) and the construction of a Ring Road at the Tuesday Market.
Participants of the meeting included; Staff of the municipal Assembly, Heads of Decentralized Departments of the Assembly, Traders, Officers of various Security services, Members of the Dormaa Traditional Council, Utility Service Providers, among others.
The meeting was one of several meetings that the Assembly has held with the Stakeholders concerning the two projects. During the meeting, the Municipal Assembly informed the various stakeholders when the projects are expected to commence and the need for some Project Affected Persons (PAPs) to relocate to make way for the implementation of the projects. The Assembly further reveaaled locations to which the PAPs will be relocated to.
At the end of the meeting, all stakeholders were happy about the two projects and the arrangement being put in place by the Municipal Assembly to implement the smoothly without negatively affecting the lives and livelihood of the PAPs.
