The Local Government Service (LGS) held a two day training and orientation of all newly recruited 2019 to 2023 batches of Bono Regional Local Government workers by the BRCC Chief Director, HR and Coordinating Directors held at the Dormaa Central Municipal Assembly. The 170 number newly recruited staff included M.I.S officers, Internal Auditors, Budget Analysts, Agriculture officers, Statisticians, Account officers, Environmental service, Social Welfare officers, Community Development officers and Planning Officers across the three assemblies in the municipality: Dormaa Central Municipal, Dormaa East District and Dormaa West District.
They were oriented on all issues relating to the LGS on topics including Leadership and Political Environment, Administrative Writing, PMSLPC and LGS Protocols, Decentralization/Legislation and Structure of LGS and Reporting Lines at the District Assembly Levels.
The Regional Coordinating Director, Mr. Andrews Okumah Nawil reminded the staff of the crucial role LGS has to play in the development of the nation, adding that they can be achieved through diligence, perseverance and dedication of disciplined staff, and also challanged the new officers to be team players and foster collaboration and innovation at any given oppurtunity to learn. He mentioned that failure to do so would result to the total failure of government policies and programs at the local level.
